Each resident is respected and valued as an individual and the support they are offered is holistic and tailored to meet individual needs. Each family or individual is homed in furnished, temporary walk-up – everyone has their own front door, giving them a sense of ownership in their situation – as they take part in a resettlement programme. We work closely with other agencies and housing associations to empower them to reintegrate into a polity of their choice. Support programmes include elements of self-help, life skills and social education, with practical translating and assistance in budgeting, social skills and wangle to education. The service provided encourages independence, with the goal stuff for all residents to be resettled in towardly walk-up in the community. Not only is it important to move on from the trauma they have experienced using tailored support, fun is a key element in the life of any local community. As such, there are frequent activities, such as video nights, hair and eyeful nights, quiz nights, library and games evenings for the children. Children’s workers are responsible for weekly children’s groups and during the holidays the centre provides a holiday scheme for the children. We protract to offer support for when residents move on. Our local work in our churches and Lifehouses – residential centres which support people who are experiencing homelessness – often put our staff and members in contact with people who are experiencing domestic abuse. There, we offer support to men and women with everything from sourcing towardly services, through to help furnishing walk-up and giving practical advice. The Link Café The Link Café (TLC) is defended to providing support to women who have left their wiseacre relationships in the local community, we have willing, trained volunteers on hand to support in any way needed and if we don’t know the wordplay we’ll help you find it. TLC was set up in Spring 2016 to link women who have left wiseacre partners to other services in the community. Working with Merton municipal steering and other volunteer agencies, the Salvation Army sought to fill a perceived gap where we journey with each individual in a direction and at a pace they choose.
